Hi! Katie Carr here and I will share a little more about who I am! This past year and a half has been a whirlwind to say the least. I am a recent aka or above the knee amputee. My kids and husband are absolutely amazing and support me in more ways than one! After becoming an amputee in Jan of 2024, my best friend Maureen and I founded a non-profit called Everyday Art. For those new here, I will share my background.

Born and raised in North Carolina, with the majority of my life living an hour from the coast. My passion for painting abstract pieces is inspired by Carolina sunsets, sparkling blue ocean tides, and moody adventures. And also a little Van Morrison. A graduate of The University of North Carolina Wilmington, I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Journalism. I went on to achieve my MBA from The University of Georgia - GO DAWGS!!!

I have taken a break from art festivals for a while, but easing into commissions and eager to help you bring your vision to life for a space in your home or office, or anywhere! Follow along with me on social media for updates on life as an amputee, art, and the moments in between.
